How to buy a property in Egypt

After you have familiarized yourself with current properties and offers in your personal pre-selection and have decided to buy a property in Egypt, it is important to pay a deposit of at least 10% in your name. This guarantees that the property will be taken off the market in your name and will no longer be available to other interested parties.

Licensed lawyers will then draw up and hand over to you the purchase contract in your name and the selected property, which will get the signatures of the buyer and seller. There is the option of processing the transaction personally on site or completing it via DHL transfer (postal).

At the same time, the buyer hands over the remaining agreed purchase amount to the seller - there are also flexible options here: cash payment on site or bank transfer (international).

After full payment for the property and the conclusion of the final purchase contract, your title deed/power of attorney (Takwile) will be issued and certified in the local language Arabic by the Egyptian Notary (Shahr Akari). (Read more about Takwil here).

From this point on, you are the new owner of your property in Egypt, with all rights and obligations.

We also recommend, at your own discretion, to have the purchase contract registered with the court in Cairo and to confirm the authenticity of the signature and the right of the seller to sign, and to have the purchase contract registered with seals and stamps by judgment.
